No these objects loos their animation when inserted. Only the first gif displays.
If you mean Windows Movie Maker and GIF animations, that is easy. Simply import the GIF animation into the program. Drag it down into the Time-line view of the program. Then, drag out the GIF on the time-line (drag it to the right). That is the only way to see the animation work. You have to extend the GIF animation on the time-line for the animation to work.

A GIF image can store an animation. That is multiple images are stored into the GIF file and displayed in sequence. It is possible to control the delay between two images and also to make the animation repeat. The multiple images that are stored in the GIF file make out the series of graphics.
GIF images are of a very low quality, providing poor visual appeal and are generally not used except for clip art on ameteur websites and for emoticons (tiny icons used in forums and online chat features, sometime with animation).
GIF87a is the original format for GIF images. GIF89a included support for multiple images in the file, as well as support for animation.
