Cruachan Power Station is a storage hydro-electric power station whereas a Normal Hydroelectric power station is produced and then used, no storage needed.
In order for a hydroelectic power station to function, the station will need a large supply of water. The station will also require large generators with turbines in order to create power from the pressure of the water.
No
Yes, it generally is but a nuclear plant could refer to nuclear reactors which are basically the things that produce the power. So in essence, yes, a nuclear plant is the same thing as a nuclear power station
Potential energy
Jiyeh Power Station oil spill happened in 2006.
Oil is not too expensive, especially when you can increase the price of electricity to cover it. Oil is easily transported, and it is also simple to convert a coal burning power station into an oil burning power station.
blows up
basic imporent need is power so power plant need. it may cause harmful diseases
The main disadvantage with an oil station over a tidal one is that the oil station produces much higher levels of pollution - specifically CO2. Added to this is the fact that all fossil fuel power station are running on finite resources - there is a lot of debate about how much fossils fuels we actually have left but everyone agrees that at SOME POINT it will run out.In addition to the environmental reasons, an oil plant would likely cost a lot more to build, it is mush more visible and an eyesore to most people. On the plus side for oil plants:The technology is well understood, tidal is getting there but is not a fully fledged method of power generation yet.An oil plant would create lots of jobsFossil fuel plants are very reliable (tidal is as well)And most importantly - if you want more power you can turn it up. This isn't really an option with tidal plants.
i asked this question so why dont you answer it
No, but it has the oldest oil refinery in Asia!
DC currents only go for one mile so you have to have a power station every mile.
Yes,once its used as much oil and coal power station
Inputs of a power station is the air inside it produced. :) But seriously: The input to a power station is the source of energy use to make electricity. This can be water, oil, gas, coal, nuclear. In less conventional terms, wind turbines and tidal schemes are 'power stations'.
In cars and trucks (oil), and in power stations (coal, oil and natural gas) to generate electricity.
Harms the ozone layer And coal may soon run out
