Transformers don't work on DC. If the voltage supplied isn't the one you want, it can be difficult. If you want a negative earth, and someone else in the house wants a positive earth, you have problems. Transmission of DC over large distances has problems (to get low currents to ensure low transmission power losses you would have to convert to AC, then transform to high voltage then finally convert back). In fact in all cases the easiest solution is to convert your DC to AC, make your conversion, and then reconvert to DC. Very messy.

What are the disadvantages of full-wave transformoer over half-wave transformaer?

well the transformer is always full wave half wave refers to the one diode on the output for dc other than spending less for diodes there are no disadvantages to full wave diodes are a LOT cheaper than capacitors if you need clean dc if youre buying wall warts get the full wave if it costs the same

What are all the drawbacks of Direct current?

Disadvantages of DC: * High power transformation of voltage is less convenient than AC. AC uses a transformer. * DC does not have the natural break in transmission that AC has (zero twice per cycle) and does not switch off as easily * DC does not provide time to synchronous clocks * DC dynamos or generators are less efficient at converting input power to output electricity than AC alternators. That is why altenators with rectifiers are now used in vehicles instead of DC dynamos.

what are a few of the disadvantages to a brush-less motor controller?

The brush-less motor controller has a smaller output current than one DC motor. The brushless also has less of a output voltage. The maximum output voltage is 50V, where a regular DC motor would have a maximum of atleast 60V.

Which power transmission is best ac or dc?

yes, i think dc transmission is best, coz in dc losses is low, no iductance between conduct, less corona loss.AnswerNeither is 'better'; they each have advantages and disadvantages. For example, although there might be less losses with d.c. transmission, the equipment required to raise and reduce the voltage at each end of the line is more costly than for an a.c. transmission system.

What are the disadvantages of armature speed control method for a dc motor?

Disadvantages of armature speed control for a DC motor include complexity of control circuitry, increased maintenance due to wear on the brushes and commutator, and limited speed range compared to field control methods. Additionally, armature control can result in lower efficiency and poor performance at low speeds.
