What are the disadvantages of working in the Creative Industries?

I was looking into going to university for creative industries, and some of the main things I found out were that there are many others doing it. There is lots of competition, lots of people willing to do the same thing as you. This means competing for jobs, and the competition for the jobs means lower wages. It isn't stable, and you only earn as much as you work. In other words, if you aren't self motivated it might not be a good job for you.
That being said, these are only the cons so don't rule it out :)
