What is informational accounting?

Informational Accounting (IaA) is similar to Financial Accounting except that it applies to information instead of money. IaA uses accounting techniques - tables identifying sources, targets, balances, acquisitions, assets, allocations, savings - but not of money, only of information. For example, in IaA, it is possible to account whether there is sufficient information coming in and going out of an org. Very importantly, information can be checked to determine whether it is in or out of balance, and whether there is sufficient information for optimised operation, and also what informational investments exist that will support optimum operations and growth. Like double-entry bookkeeping shows where financials are out of balance, so the equivalent IaA approach shows where informationals are out of balance. Similarly, where a financial income statement addresses financials coming into the org, an IaA income statement addresses informationals coming in to the org. Informational Accounting is a new discipline and the number of practitioners is growing.

What causes a stem to bend towards light?

The IAA in the stem of a plant diffuses towards the shaded side of the plant when light is shone. The IAA causes the shaded side of the plant stem to grow exponentially, which causes the stem to bend towards the light. This occurs to maximise the amount of light the plant receives, useful for Photosynthesis, and plant growth.

What is the effect of soaking to the growth of plants?

Abstract- Effects of seed soaking with plant growth regulators (IAA, GA3, kinetin or prostart) on wheat (Triticum aestivum cv. Auqab-2000) emergence and seedling growth under normal (4 dS/cm) and saline (15 dS/cm) conditions were studied to determine their usefulness in increasing relative salt-tolerance. During emergence test, emergence percentage and mean emergence time (MET) were significantly affected by most of priming treatments, however, root and shoot length, fresh and dry weight of seedlings were significantly increased by 25 ppm kinetin followed by 1% prostart for 2 h treatments under both normal and saline conditions. All pre-sowing seed treatments decreased the electrolyte leakage of steep water as compared to that of non-primed seeds even after 12 h of soaking. Seed soaking with 25 ppm kinetin induced maximum decrease in electrolyte leakage while an increase in electrolyte leakage was observed by 25, 50 or 100 ppm IAA treatments. It is concluded that priming has reduced the severity of the effect of salinity but the amelioration was better due to 25 ppm kinetin and 1% prostart (2 h) treatments as these showed best results on seedling growth, fresh and dry weights under non-saline and saline conditions whereas seed soaking with IAA and GA3 were not effective in inducing salt tolerance under present experimental material and conditions

Why are not all cells of the body effected by the hormones?

Because specific cell has specific receptors for ech kind of hormone in animals, though plants donot follow same rule. Still cells are specifically responding due to other biochaemical reasons like presence of IAA oxidase degrading auxin fail to iduce the root growth. SEcondly depends on cell ability to recycle receptors or metabolisation

What hormone causes plants to grow toward light?

Indoleacetic acid (IAA) is a plant growth factor that causes plants to grow towards light by elongating cells on the shaded side of the stem.

Is naa an auxin?

Auxins are a class of plant growth substance (often called phytohormone or plant hormone). Auxins play an essential role in coordination of many growth and behavioral processes in the plant life cycle. Overview Auxins derive their name from the Greek word auxano (to grow). They were the first of the major plant hormones to be discovered and are a major coordinating signal in plant development. Their pattern of active transport through the plant is complex. They typically act in concert with (or opposition to) other plant hormones. For example, the ratio of auxin to cytokinin in certain plant tissues determines initiation of root versus shoot buds. Thus a plant can (as a whole) react on external conditions and adjust to them, without requiring a nervous system. On a molecular level, auxins have an aromatic ring and a carboxylic acid group (Taiz and Zeiger, 1998). The most important member of the auxin family is indole-3-acetic acid (IAA). It generates the majority of auxin effects in intact plants, and is the most potent native auxin. However, molecules of IAA are chemically labile in aqueous solution, so IAA is not used commercially as a plant growth regulator. * Naturally-occurring auxins include 4-chloro-indoleacetic acid, phenylacetic acid (PAA) and indole-3-butyric acid (IBA). * Synthetic auxin analogsinclude 1-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA), 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D), and others. {| |+ Gallery of native auxins |- |indole-3-acetic acid (IAA)Indole-3-butyric acid (IBA)4-chloroindole-3-acetic acid (4-CI-IAA)2-phenylacetic acid (PAA)|+ Gallery of synthetic auxins2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D)α-Naphthalene acetic acid (α-NAA)2-Methoxy-3,6-dichlorobenzoic acid (dicamba)4-Amino-3,5,6-trichloropicolinic acid (tordon or picloram)2,4,5-Trichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4,5-T)α-(p-Chlorophenoxy)isobutyric acid (PCIB, an antiauxin)Auxins are often used to promote initiation of adventitious roots and are the active ingredient of the commercial preparations used in horticulture to root stem cuttings. They can also be used to promote uniform flowering, to promote fruit set, and to prevent premature fruit drop. Used in high doses, auxin stimulates the production of ethylene. Excess ethylene can inhibit elongation growth, cause leaves to fall (leaf abscission), and even kill the plant. Some synthetic auxins such as 2,4-D and 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4,5-T) have been used as herbicides. Broad-leaf plants (dicots) such as dandelions are much more susceptible to auxins than narrow-leaf plants (monocots) like grass and cereal crops. These synthetic auxins were the active agents in Agent Orange, a defoliant used extensively by American forces in the Vietnam War. |}

When plant cells divide why does growth only continue at the tip of the plant?

Because the apical parts in plants have meristematic cells without differentiation into permanent cells. Also apical buds having active cell division have lesser quantity of growth promoting hormones like IAA and cytokinins etc.
