A spark plug is used to ignite the fuel/air mixture inside the cylinder of an internal combustion engine. If the spark plug isn't working, the cylinder won't fire. In a multi-cylinder engine, this will result in rough running and loss of power. In a small, single cylinder engine, this will result in the inability to start the engine.
Defective spark plug? Defective plug wire?
One of the things that a mechanic could be told to buy when working with spark plug wires could be a spark plug gap wire gauge. Another thing could be spark plug wire pullers.
Remove the spark plug wire from the spark plug and make sure it will not touch the spark plug. Or, you can remove the spark plug, but be sure and cover the hole so no debris will fall into the cylinder.
The gas goes to the piston chamber not the spark plug. Is your fuel pump working and if so are the jets blocked.
You did not say what year, engine size are what you are working on. NEED TO KNOW. Do you have spark at the plug wire were it hooks to the spark plug.
yes
put a spark plug on the end of a spark plug lead and earth the side of it to a bit of metal in the engine..get some one to wind it up and if it doesn't spark, the coils not working. use insulated pliers when you hold the lead!!
Locate which cylinder is dead, remove the spark plug, if the spark plug is bone dry the injector is probably not working.
either ur spark plug is bad ur ignition for the spark plug isn't working, ur batterie is dead or there is somthing wrong with ur engine
If you mean that the wire came out of the boot, then pull the boot off of the spark plug and use a spark plug socket to remove the spark plug.
could be a bad spark plug or bad plug wire.
Usually caused by spark plugs not igniting properly. Check that your spark plugs and and your spark plug wires are in tact and working.
