Marijuana, just like any drug- legal or illegal, can cause different reactions in users. Effects of marijuana can also depend on route of administration including smoking, ingesting, and dermal absorbtion. a common misconception is that marijuana itself is a drug. this is not true, marijuana is a natural growing plant that has been genetically engineered over decades to produce more of a psycho-active drug within the plant called tetrahydrocannabinol more well known as thc, and other lesser natural chemicals. when smoked, like inhaling any smoke, it can feel a bit harsh in the throat and lungs, but generally clears up quickly with a drink. smoking specifically takes a short amount of time to react with the body, but can vary depending on the strain of marijuana smoked. some users who have Allergies may find their nose to get runny, but this is rare. after inhalation of the smoke the user typically begins to feel a sense of warmth and well-being. Colors may become sharper and more clear, music can become more agreeable even if it isnt your favorite genre, and you will probably feel hungry known as "the munchies". Other methods such as "edibles" or cooking marijuana into food, concentrating thc into drops, and absorbtion through topical creams on the skin can take as little as 30 minutes and as much as 3 hours. the effects are usually pretty much the same, but the high is characteristically more intense, and in some users who havent used marijuana before, this may be frightening. just like any drug, always remember that moderation is key. while marijuana alone can not, and i repeat CAN NOT kill a person, the high may scare a person away from trying it again and possibly enjoying themselves while on the herb. Marijuana can be intoxicating, so always take care to not drive or do anything possibly dangerous until you learn how your body will react to thc, and learn to judge if it will impair you from doing things. Remember, no two marijuana plants are the same, so they will all carry different amounts of thc in them, but can often be classified within strengths. some argue that its a bad drug and a demotivater, they are wrong. it is a fact that marijuana is what you make of it, if you want to get stoned and sit on the couch, thats what you will do. But if you want to go for a walk or do homework or something more productive, then you will do that. its mind over matter. some even say that the effects cause more creativity and some of the most well known music especially, but other forms of art were done while under the effects of marijuana.

It offers neuroprotection, meaning it protects nerves and brain cells. There is also some evidence that it may facilitate brain cell development. The US DHS confirms the scientific research that marijuana can be used as a neuroprotectant and antioxidant, it hold the patent to these uses patent no. 6630507

I can also relive the symptoms of ADD and ADHD as well as help motivate them to do their work.

The consequences of minimal usage are not alarming. Many voices on the subject overplay the impact marijuana has in the development of the brain as not all users are taking the drug every week. A brief outline of these effects on the brain is as follows:

User's are more likely to develop mental problems such as anxiety, depression, etc. This, however, is a varying risk from person to person. Some people may never experience these mental issues.

Short term memory issues is also a common problem linked with the drug, but this is only temporary.

People can sometimes identify someone who abuses the drug by their behaviour.

The main problem with marijuana is that people think that the drug is relatively harmless. This is only true if the user doesn't abuse the drug. I know people who smoke it before they go to bed (marijuana is a great for insomnia relief and other debilitating conditions) and when they wake up (certain strains can be more effective than coffee and are much less addictive than coffee). It can happen to anyone.
