Seroquel is an antipsychotic. It is generally used to treat schizophrenia or the manic effects of Bipolar disorder. It works by changing the action of certain chemicals on the brain. People who don't require it should not take it. It won't produce any desired effects if you are taking it to "get high"

What are the effects of combining Wellbutrin with seroquel?

Yes you can. I take 400 mg seroquel and 300 mg bupropion daily and I feel fine. However, both medications lower the threshold for seizures. When you take them together, this means that the chance that you will have an epileptic seizure will be bigger. Be careful with alcohol.

Will 100mg of seroquel put you to sleep?

Seroquel should ONLY be taken according to your prescription. A person on Seroquel needs to take their meds the way that they're supposed to, in the time frame that they are supposed to, to keep a steady level of the drug in the body. Seroquel is an anti-psychotic, and not a sleep aid. The important thing is, if you are on Seroquel, you need to take it properly. Don't just stop taking it; you need to be "weaned off". And if it is not your prescription, you should NOT take it. Anti-psychotic drugs taken by a person who doesn't need it can be dangerous, including having long-term permanent effects such as Tardive Diskinesia. Actually Seroquel IS prescribed by a lot of doctors as a sleep aid. It's an anti psychotic medication that can be used to help you sleep. I have a prescription for it as a sleep aid myself actually.

Is seroquel a substitute for Valium?

They are very different drugs. Seroquel is an anti-psychotic, whereas Valium is a benzodiazepine. both drugs can cause sedation, but generally they aren't interchangable, as they have substantially different effects.

Can seroquel be used for bowel trouble?

You failed to mention what the 'bowel trouble' was. Seroquel (dibenzothiazepine) is a medication prescribed for acute mania in bipolar 1 disorder. One of seroquel's side-effects is constipation and heartburn (reflux). So, it would be in your best interest to discuss the matter with your psychiatrist.

What are the sexual side effects of seroquel?

None listed on the manufacturers PIL or SPC leaflets. I take 600mg Seroquel daily and since then I seem to have an increase in desire and a profound increase in the intensity of orgasm.
