A simple formula could be something like multiplying cells by each other, or summing a range of cells using a simple function:

=C10*D10

=SUM(A2:A20)

It can have any of the different functions It can have the various mathematical operators, which are things like the plus sign, minus sign, multiplication sign and division sign. It can have the logical operators like equals, less than and greater than. So there can be many elements to a formula, including ones not mentioned.
