There are many ethnic groups in the UK. The largest, as of 2001 (Source: ONS), were White British (88.2%), White Irish (1.2%), Mixed (1.2%), Indian (1.8%), Pakistani (1.3%), Bangladeshi (0.5%), Black Caribbean (1.0%), Black African (0.8%) and Chinese (0.4%). There are, within the groups 'Other White' (2.5%), 'Other Asian' (0.4%) and 'Other Black' (0.2%) further denominations, but I need not go into those as they make up a very small individual proportion of the population.
