It would only be an inchoate crime if the intended offense never took place. An inchoate crime is an incomplete crime which must be connected to a substantive crime to obtain a conviction. Examples of inchoate crimes are criminal conspiracy, criminal solicitation, and attempt to commit a crime, when the crime has not been completed. It refers to the act of preparing for or seeking to commit another crime. A true inchoate offense occurs when the intended crime does not occur since the doctrine of merger prohibits charging both offenses.
The noun suspect is a person considered guilty of a crime, or a cause of other types of situations. Examples: The police have identified a suspect in the crime. A faulty joint is the main suspect for this leak.
Examples of attorney misconduct include failing to act in the best interests of clients, breaching client confidentiality, engaging in conflicts of interest, providing false information in court, and misappropriating client funds.
Situational crime prevention is premised on the understanding that most crime is opportunistic. The idea is that taking preventative measures such as better locks on front doors or more sophisticated security in cars will deter crime. An example is the implementation of sturdy fare boxes and an exact change system on buses.
