Practically all modern bibles are false bibles. You see, there is money to be made in selling new versions of bibles, aided and abetted by the devil, who wishes to confuse and divide the Christian Community. Just read the preface or introduction to a new version and it will say something like: The New Testament is translated from the Greek text of the United Bible Society or Nestle Aland. However this is a conflation of Westcott and Hort's heretical Greek new testament of 1881 with an admixture of the Textus Receptus as they have felt fit. Westcott and Hort's heretical new testament was largely based on two 4th century recensions. The Old Testament is pretty well set in stone and most versions are fairly similar. It is the New Testament that is where new versions fall down. Only the King James and New King James Bibles are based on the correct Greek New Testament known as the Textus Receptus. If the New Testament of your bible is based on anything other than the Textus Receptus then it is a false bible. That said though, the Catholic Douay Rheims Bible is not a bad translation, though it is a translation from the Latin Vulgate so any errors tend to be reproduced. King James Bible, New King James Bible, Living Bible, New Living Translation (2nd edition), New English Bible, New International Version, Douay Rheims Bible, English Standard Version and Good News Bible. There are many, many more references that I have consulted including some making outrageous claims, but those below are the most sensible. Answers to Your Bible Version Questions, David Daniels. Chick Publications 2003 (probably not the best book on the subject, but at least it was cheap!). Revision Revised, Dean John Burgon, Burgon Soc. 2008 (the original book on the subject, somewhat heavy going but very learned. A reprint of the 1885 book). Which Version Should you Read. Thomas Nelson, Tan 2000 (a Roman Catholic View on the subject). Bible Versions. Hugh Dunton, Autumn House 1997 (an unbiased view of the subject). Bayith BTR, Articles, http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~emcd/index6.htm (a good concise manual on the subject though approached from a scientific point of view). King James Bible Errors. http://www.biblestudy.org/basicart/kjverror.html (just to add balance). Fighting Back, http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Books,%20Tracts%20&%20Preaching/Printed%20Books/James_Melton/fighting_back.htm. The English Versions of Scripture, http://www.bible-researcher.com/versions.html (a critical analysis of bible versions). Comparing Bible Versions, H:\Homers\Bible\Comparing Bible Versions.mht. (a marks out of 100 kind of thing). Clement of Rome, in Lost Books of The Bible, Testaments Books 1979 There are also, I believe, some very good and erudite works of a similar or better nature including: Crowned with Glory, Dr Thomas Holland, Author House 2000. Which Version is the Bible, Dr Floyd Nolan Jones, Anchor Distributors 1999.
