children in the street of fruit stalls are unaware about the difficulties and miseries of life caused by the war. They are enjoying their time by buying fruits and then tasting them , drinking their juice and eating them. In short they are enjoying their life and as it's child's nature that they only think about the present that how to enjoy it and do not care about the future. So same case is there in the poem.
