The actual repo expenses will probably be on the order of $350 or so. However, the "repo man" doesn't have the legal right to give you the car back, because it does not belong to you, it belongs to the lender until you pay it off. (Technically, you have a shared interest in it; your equity in the car is whatever it's worth at wholesale/auction prices minus the amount remaining on the debt.)
You'd need to contact your lender and see what they require in order for you to get the car back; this could range from "bring your account current and pay the repo expenses" to "pay off the loan completely and the repo expenses." Just don't wait too long or you could be told "We've already sold it, and it didn't bring enough to cover your remaining debt, so you owe us the difference. Including the repo fee, that comes out to $5280. When can we expect your check?"
