Well, one of the first things you would have to think about is WHICH military you are thinking about.... every military uses a different variation of firearms due to the fact that they would need specific types and models of firearms for specific jobs. Many of the choices of firearms are of simple military preferences. But (I'm only assuming this, because it would be most logical) for the USA's military, there is a vast variation of firearms being used today. The most popular one, and known to many, is the M16. But the M16 is no longer widely used in combat today, due to previous problems. therefore, the more advanced versions of the M16 such as the M4A1 and the CAR-15 (more than this) are being used today. Of course this is not the only thing. I will list out a range of the most popular American firearms in their classes.
Assault Rifles:
-M4/M16 series
- ACR, SCAR, Styer AUG, FAMAS, TAR and more (possible for future use, and/or current
use for elite military groups)
and more
Machine Guns:
-M249 SAW
-M60 (and variations)
-MK48/46
and more
Pistols:
-Colt M1911 (one of the most popular)
-Beretta M9
and more
SMG:
-MP5 series
-UMP series
-possibly the P90
and more (UZI is also possible)
Sniper Rifles:
-L96 series
-M24
-Cheytac M200 Intervention
-Barret 50 Cal (many models and types)
and more
this is only a small list, but you can easily Google any of those guns or google modern firearms of a specific military...
THANKS FOR READING!!! hope this helped :D
