I was a Muslim for about a year, but even after I stopped being a Muslim, I kept going to the mosque in Moscow Idaho because I got free food every Friday night. So, I would go, pretend to pray, while anxiously awaiting my free seasoned chicken with rice, and shasta soda. Every night it was always the same thing; seasoned chicken and rice, followed by a soda, and for dessert we would eat various types made from honey. If there is anything Jordanian Arabs know, its how to make desserts from honey. lol. I think I must have had like 20 different varieties of honey desserts. There are no "best foods," only forbidden ones. Generally Muslim dietary law forbids the consumption of pork, and in all truth, Muslim dietary law is in fact identical to Jewish dietary laws, where only specific birds, rabbit, and hoofed animals are allowed. Pigs are a big no no though, under no circumstances is a Muslim to eat pig, only if close to starvation, and by that it is meant, if you are about to die of hunger THEN you may eat a pig. What is generally favored in the Arab world is lamb, chicken, and occassionally rabit. Although, I am unsure if rabits are even found in the near east anymore. Part of the reason falcons were, and still are, valued by the Beduin, is because a falcon could be trained for rabit catching. Having a falcon made the difference between life or death in the desert.
Answer:
A good Muslim food is Hallal food and food earned in the right lawful way:
I mean by Hallal any meat slaughtered for food by invoking the name of Allah; i.e. in the name of Allah the most merciful and the most gracious, is considered good and clean food.
Other foods earned via lawful means such as employment, trade, farming etc... are considered good food, but food bought via unlawful ways such bribes, cheating, or stealing etc.... is considered not good food.
Good luck.
Pretty much what the people in their part of the world eat, but with certain categories of food forbidden, or haram. These include all pork (and shellfish for certain groups) and a few other things. Permitted foods are called halal, and strict Muslims insist on these being prepared in specialized ways.
If you're familiar with the Jewish kashrut, halal is very similar to, but a little less stringent than kosher, while haram is much the same as treyf.
A Muslim can eat vegetables, fruit, meat of birds and animals slaughtered as described by Islam and not forbidden by Almighty God or the last Prophet (SAW). They are not permitted to eat blood, swine, Birds of Prey, beasts of prey, or even a Halal animal or bird slaughtered in the name of some statue, or any Deity other than Almighty Allah.
