  • Years ago in particularly the Western Culture it was a must that men in particular (women didn't shake hands up until the 1960s) over a deal or just an understanding was a solid handshake and was meant to be given with trust and to honor whatever deal the two men made. Hand shakes in modern times are similar, but, it is said that a limp handshake tells a lot about the character of that person; whether they are strong in the deal they have made and have the confidence to back it up and are honest in what they say. A good solid handshake means the person's belief in what they are agreeing too is strong, but in modern times one just never knows as there are more scams to deal with. When two people shake there is an energy between the two and some people can pick up on that energy as to whether the person they are shaking hands with is a person they can trust or is genuinely happy to see them. Handshakes are mostly between men greeting each other; saying goodbye or closing a business deal. Women have now picked up this type of etiquette because they are out in the business world.
