In choruses there are sopranos, altos, tenors and basses, but in solo voices there are also countertenors, mezzo-sopranos and baritones. From highest female to lowest male they go soprano, mezzo-soprano, contralto (alto for short) counter-tenor (a male alto), tenor, baritone and bass.
Bass, Alto, Tenor & Treble.
A treble is the highest of the four main male voice types, usually found in cathedral choirs, and is sung by boys. The soprano is the highest of the three main female voice types, higher than mezzo-soprano and alto.
Baritone, Tenor, Alto, and Soprano.
A four-part choir can have any number of voices as long as there are enough people to actually be considered a choir instead of an ensemble. Four-parts actually has nothing to do with how many people are in the choir. Instead, it dictates that there will be four different voice parts. Usually this means there will be soprano, alto, tenor, and bass parts. However, there could be a 4 part choir made up entirely of women where you would likely have 1st sopranos, 2nd sopranos, 1st altos, and 2nd altos. The same is true for men, but the parts would have different names ( most likely1st tenor, 2nd tenor, baritone, and bass).

A standard chorus consists of four voice parts, two female and two male. The highest of the female voices sing soprano and the lowest sing alto. The highest male voices sing tenor and the lowest sing bass. On a piece of music this is designated on the front as SATB (soprano, alto, tenor, bass). The parts will often divide into 1 and 2. The voices singing the 1 part sing the higher within the range of their voice range. For example, when the sopranos split into 2 parts, the women with the highest range sing 1 and the ones with lower voices sing 2. Bass 2 is the lowest when the choir splits. Pieces can be voiced in many ways, meaning that you could have a piece for SSAATTBB, SSAA, SAA, TB, TTBB, TBB, and any other combination the composer wishes to choose.
