A research library serves as a repository of scholarly resources, providing access to books, journals, electronic databases, and other materials to support research. It also offers services such as reference assistance, interlibrary loan, and information literacy instruction to help researchers navigate and utilize these resources effectively. Additionally, research libraries often play a role in preserving and archiving valuable materials for future generations.

A librarian have many different roles, which makes it hard to place them in one specific catagory. The main role is to promote information literacy and to allow information be shared equally and to find what people are looking for or wants. The are mainly two cataloguing systems that are used when librarians sort documents into the system so that they can be found again by the database, which comes in many different shapes and sizes and are often made by librarians, system and web developers, webdesigners etc. These two systems are called Dewey Decimal Classification and Universal Decimal Classification.

Librarians work a lot with marketing, strategyplanning and dissemination, how to convey information the best way to reach its people. Librarians give advice, and also they look equally on a commercial and non-commercial book depending on the inner quality and language (the long tale). Many librarians often do have a second education applied to their special field, such as litterature, movies, music, art, gamemaking, multimediadesigns etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Librarian

You have to include the library into your assembled code by using an #include pre-processing directive. (It is the header file what you include, not the library.)Further, the author of the library functions would have had to set the accessibility of the functions to public.
