Use products that give lots of flavor so that you don't need salt.
For example: I use Mrs. Dash seasonings in my mashed potatoes. Mrs. Dash seasonings does not contain salt but it flavors my mashed potatoes so well that I don't need the salt. Any pure herbs or spices will add flavour without adding salt. Avoid processed foods as most have high levels of salt.
There are many good food spices you could use to replace slat. You could use curry powder but don't put to much or else it will taste funny. You could also use ground red pepper.I like to use onion powder and Italian seasoning. Italian seasoning taste really good with fish.
