Periods
Noble gases: helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon, radon, ununoctium.
As with any grid, the periodic table has rows running left to right, and columns running up and down. The rows are called PERIODS and the columns are called GROUPS.
the horizontal rows are called periods the vertical columns are called groups A periodic table is a tabular display of the chemical elements, organized on the basis of their atomic numbers, electron configurations, and recurring chemical properties. Elements are presented in order of increasing atomic number.
In the periodic table of the elements, a period is a horizontal row of the table. Elements in the same period have the same number of energy levels.
The Elements on the far right side of the Periodic Table of the Elements are known as the Nobel Gasses.
There seems to be a typo in your question. If you meant a "horizontal row" (left to right) of the periodic table, those are called periods. If you meant a "vertical column" (up and down) of the periodic table, those are called groups.
The horizontal rows on the Periodic Chart are called Periods. The vertical columns on the are called Groups, or sometimes Families.
It signify the group of the element. For example, the first group is called alkali metals. When it is moving from left to right of the periodic table, the atomic radius decreases, the ionization energy increases, and the electronegativity increases.
Noble gases
A triangle has three sides. The two sides that are perpendicular are called legs and the diagonal side is called the hypotenuse. Whichever side is horizontal (usually one of the legs) is also called the base.
The elements to the right of that zigzag are called "non-metals"
A right angle which is 90 degrees
The periodic table of elements is not a real table with every element that exists but a chart with initials and these initials stand for the elements. For instance Al stands for aluminum and Na stands for sodium. Go figure right? :)
it moves from left to right
A line that is at right angles to a vertical line is said to be horizontal.
Atomic radii decreases on moving from left to right as the effective nuclear charge increases.
A column, also called group, is a vertical line on the periodic table.
