As in the development of children, Genetic, Biological, Environmental, and social factors interact in adolescent development. Adolescence can be defined as a period of transition from childhood to adulthood that involves physical, cognitive, and social changes. In most cultures adolescence is entered between the ages of ten and thirteen, and exited at some point between eighteen and twentytwo years of age.
