It's just a random amount of points depending on how you do in matchmaking
But Bungie made a new rule with the November update.
The number of points increase in the Jackpot if...
*you complete multiple multiplayer matches in a row without quitting
*Doing good and winning matches, getting multiple medals.
Most you could get is 777, which is what i got and that's about a 1-20 chance of happening. Most of the time you get low point count :(
