CITES - is the Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species. It is an international agreement governing the import and export of vulnerable animal, insect and plant species.
In 1984, the giant panda was transferred from Appendix III to Appendix I of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES)
Because they are now protected under the CITES regulations ! CITES - is the Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species.
