To be sure do a spline count of both steering wheels. You may need to use the hardware to attach the steering wheel to the column from the 1988. Unplug the wire at the connector. 2, If it still has the safety clip remove it. 3, Use the appropriate wrench to remove the nut from the steering shaft. 4. Use a steering wheel puller to loosen then remove the steering wheel. Reverse the instructions to replace the steering wheel. Steering wheel retainer nut should be 30 ft. lbs. torque.
