The main christian belief is that from John chapter 3 verse 16. Which says that god so loved the world that he gave us his only begotten son, who believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

1st God loves us and originally created us to be perfect, but Humans turned away from God and are now depraved living in a fallen world and now inherently evil.

2nd God loved us and desired to seek us restored to perfection so he took human form and died in the most horrible way we could imagine as an expression of his love and restore us to perfection. taking all our sorrows and troubles away and giving us life hope and a reason to live. he rose again 3 days later.

3rd me must accept Jesus as our savior, and have a personal relationship with him. Jesus is our only escape.
