Both mainstream Christians and Jehovah's Witnesses claim to believe and follow the bible, however there are marked differences between both groups.
*Mainstream Christians believe Jesus to be Almighty God while
JW believe Jesus to be the Son of God (Luke 3:21-22)
*Mainstream Christians believe in a trinity (three Gods in one) while
JW believe there to be only One True God and Creator (Deut 6:4)
*Mainstream Christians believe God tortures the wicked forever in hellfire
JW believe God is love and that eternal burning in hell is not a biblical teaching (Jer 7:21)
*Mainstream Christians rarely refer to God by his personal name (Yawheh/Jehovah)
The Jehovah's Witnesses believe that God's name should be Sanctified, honoured and praised at every opportunity (Math 6:9)
*Mainstream Christians Generally do not preach the gospel
Jehovah's Witnesses are well known for their public ministry (Math 28:19:20)
*Most mainstream Christians have no objection to participating in War or politics
Jehovah's Witnesses insist on remaining politically neurtral (John 15:19)
*Mainstream Christian religions teach the "immortality of the soul"
Jehovah's Witnesses believe the soul can be destroyed (Matthew 10:28)

The Jehovah's Witnesses do not recognize Jesus Christ as fully divine although they do call Him the son of God.
As part of this they reject the Christian teaching on the trinity and also deny the deity of the Holy Spirit referring to Him as God's 'active force'.
The Jehovah's Witnesses also insist that Jehovah is the one and only true divine name, and even though this is not once mentioned in the New Testament they introduce it into the text of their New World Translation, although it does not once appear in the Greek text. Jehovah God is the most high over all the earth. (Ps. 83:18) Some Bible's have been completely changed to reveal something different and Jehovah's name has on occasion been totally removed. The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures is not our own Bible that we all of a sudden created, instead it is the Bible. "Christians" believe that when you die all good people go to heaven and all bad people go to hell. Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the righteous ones that Jehovah chooses are the only ones who go to heaven which is 144,000 and that when you die you are simply sleeping in the grave until it is time to relieve you in a paradise earth.
