Here is a specific example (or maybe follow up question).
Is there a tradition of asking for water when visiting a house?
For instance I had several Islamic neighbors visit my house (front door) during the recent Halloween night celebration. (trick or treat).
Each of the visitor group of kids was accompanied by their mom and each mom asked for water. One had an empty plastic bottle the other asked for a paper cup full.
Afterward I got to thinking, was this a tradition or just some thirsty folks?
Any answer appreciated, Thanks
Scott
No it is just a common thing asked
Really so it is no tradition at all?
the u have Islam is a universal religion. can accept any culture but it gives us some parameter for our culture what is good for looking Muslim in ur culture. just simple
The basic Islam traditions require forgiveness, performing ritual worships, and practicing good morals per Quran and prophet Muhammad (PBUH) teachings. Refer to questions below.
To Follow Allah
the five pillars
and read the Qur'an
but most inporantly follow Allah
if by tradiotns you mean what we clebrate or believe in:
one thing we celbrate is Eid ( we have a small and big Eid)
another tradtional thing is RamaDan , where we Fast all day(no food, no water) until the sun goes down t, the month of Ramadan is very important
We also believe in that once in a muslims life they must go to Mecah ( i think it is allahs house, or the house abramham first built) a muslim must go travel to mecah once in their life
The Five Pillars of Islam are the primary rituals of the Islamic religion.
For the Sunni sect these are:
Each of these rituals have required methods and are outlined in the Quran.
It is basically Christianity in a different language. The prophet Mohamed began to doubt the polytheistic practices of the local priests, and one day heard the voice of God telling him to write the koran to correct the misunderstandings and questions left by The Bible. He wrote the koran in a cave through visions given by God or "Allah" and was hated by the town priests for doing so. I don't know very much about it and I am probably wrong about a few things. but i wish god would tell me a few things about life the universe and everything. rather than having to believe what humans have written that God wants me to believe.
Prophet Muhammad was aliterate, he received no revelation until he became 40 years old, when Angel Gabriel came to him with the first verses of the Holy Quran.
Until his death, Prophet Muhammad wasn't able to write a single letter nor say poetry and he was never witnessed learning with the help of anybody.
The Holy Quran was not revealled to just correct errors in the Bible, but to be a life legislation, coz all Holy books are revealled by God, but only Holy Quran was preserved from alteration. It was not revealled at once but divided, then Angel Gabriel guided Prophet Muhammad to the right arrangement of it.
The Holy Quran included information about God, life, universe and every single issue that comes to human mind.
The Five Pillars of Islam are the main practises of it, but to be a real Muslim, you should additionally follow the Sunnah (what Prophet Muhammad did or said or accepted) and follow the strict commandments of the Quran (honesty, respectfulness, knid treatment to parents and family,...).

Some of the Islamic traditions and festivles are the Eid ul Azha, Eid ul Fitr and Eid Milad un Nabi. Then there is Islamic New year which is different than the Christian New year. Both of the former Eids are related to the Holy month of Ramazan for fasting and the Holy month of Zul Haj for hajj and sacrifice.

Pakistan people are Muslim
Pakistan is a Muslim country and the tradition among many Muslims is to circumcise.
People all over the world shave no matter what religon they are of. People in places with higher Muslim populations are not bound by law to shave or not shave. The only reason many Muslims tend not to shave is because it is of tradition. Whether or not a person wants to follow the tradition is up to them; women do not have to wear the facial clothing if they do not want to, but sometimes they have to from family pressures and even outside influences(if everyone around you is doing it, why aren't you?).
No, this tradition has no foundation in islam, it is derived from an indian practice.
There are about 6 to 7 billion people in the world today. Roughly 1.5 people are Muslim.
