The list of applications is extensive. C++ has been used, in whole or in part, to develop applications including literally every major application produced by Microsoft, such as all operating systems since Windows 95 and NT4, the Office suite, IE, VS (excluding .NET base class libraries written in C#, but the C# compiler itself was written in C++), Exchange, SQL, FrontPage, Money, Project, Z3 and all Microsoft games.
Outside of Microsoft, C++ has been used to develop applications such as WinAmp, mIRC, GCC, Arium, BeOS, Caldera, FlightGear and Mozilla, to name but a few, and is used extensively by virtually all major software companies and developers such as Adobe, Autodesk, Ericcson, Facebook, Google, IBM, Intel, Lockheed-Martin Aero, Nokia, Siemens and Vodaphone.
A more extensive list of applications can be found on Bjarne Stroustrup's website (see sources and related links below).
