The American Library Association provides some very useful and important resources, among which are lists of books that have been challenged or banned by jurisdictions somewhere in the United States. Obviously, the lists change over time as new books are published and new politically sensitive groups take issue with some issue or idea that they perceive to be threatening.

The related link will take you to the most recent list of the top 100 most banned and/or challenged books of the decade 2000-2009.

The American Library Association's list of most challenged books includes titles like "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian" by Sherman Alexie, "Thirteen Reasons Why" by Jay Asher, "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee, and "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins. These books have faced challenges due to themes of racism, violence, sexual content, or offensive language.
