Every once in a while the Minecraft severs will be overwhelmed or down for maintenance so you may have to keep trying. Recently it went down for a few days with problems. Just keep trying. You can always download another free browser like Safari from Apple or FireFox from Mozzila, if anything for a a backup, or use Explorer.
