∙ 14y agoThere are many styles used to mix cocktails but, here are three common methods: 1) Shaken 2) Bruised 3) Stirred. When shaking is used to mix a cocktail a shaker is used that is filled partially with ice. The ingredients that are to be chilled are then added to the shaker. The shaker cools the mixture as well as partially melts the ice and slightly dilutes the drink. The second method bruising, is a method used when the drink calls for more dillution. The ingredients are added to the shaker along with ice and the concoction tis shook harder and longer than usual. The rock ice broken into small bits due to the force used. These bits are known as bruises. Stirred is when the ice and codktail ingredients are placed into a mixing glass and gently stirred with a spoon. This is the gentlelist of the three mixing methods.
