Having lived in Hawai'i for two years, I know plenty:
There's much more to learn about Hawai'i, but you have to go there to find out!
A couple corrections regarding the previous answer:
1) The "hotspot" and underwater volcano is at the south end of the "Big Island" Hawaii, not Ni'ihau which is far northwest near Kaua'i, the oldest large island (and volcanically inactive) of the 132 atolls and islands in the Hawaiian island chain.
2)Kaho'olawe is not populated, but also not "wartorn". It was used by the United States as a target island to practice bombing, but was never a target of war.
3) Pineapple is no longer a major export of the Hawaiian islands as very little is still grown here. The major agricultural crop is sugar cane.
I urge people to take care when answering questions, since it is wrong to mislead people with incorrect answers if WikiAnswers is to be taken seriously. Two years may not be enough time to "know plenty"
