Martin are probably the best acoustic brand of guitar, although, they do cost between $4,500-$10,000.

If you are just starting out, or have been playing for a year or so, I would recommend a Yamaha. They aren't the best, but they are good guitars for their price.

I agree and would also recommend a Takamine or even a Fender.

Both electric and acoustic guitars can be expensive. But it is possible to find inexpensive guitars that are either acoustic or electric in music stores or on-line retailers such as Amazon. However, it's important to keep in mind they will not be the same quality as more expensive options.

What is the difference between acoustic guitars and acousic-electric guitars?

Acoustic guitar is what it says acoustic, none electric makes the sound from the guitar body/chamber. Acoustic/electric or electro acoustic look the same as an acoustic but have a pic-up fitted inside the body to link to an amplifier. A Semi acoustic guitar looks more like an electric guitar but with a hollow body or chambered body with pick-ups mounted on the sound board of the guitar.

Much like an electo/acoustic guitar. This is simply and acoustic bass with a pickup in it. This allows you to use it for small acoustic gigs but when more volume is needed you can easily plug it in and ramp it up!
