The one certainty in the world of first-day cover collecting is that blank first-day covers are virtually worthless in today's stamp collecting marketplace. In general, only stamps canceled with the first-day date are deemed collectible without a cachet.

Except for printing errors, the most valuable are the $4 and $5 Columbian and

$1 and $2 Transmissippi issue. All are worth several hundred dollars in good condition,

mint or used, the mint being roughly 3 times more valuable. Except for printing errors, the most valuable are the $4 and $5 Columbian and

Do used stamps have value?

They may be, depending on their condition and rarity. Used stamps are inexpensive and are a great way to begin a stamp collection. Some of the most valuable stamps in the world are used and in very poor shape. But many of them are the single example known of a certain stamp, so are worth literally millions of dollars. Having the stamps in a book preserves them, makes them easy to see and can make it easier to determine the value of a collection. Most collectors use an album of some type to store their collection.

Are any Postal Commemorative Society stamps real?

This company produces a variety of products. Their first-day covers are real enough. I think they make gold or gold-plated replicas of certain stamps, which of course, are not real postage stamps. They offer some stamp and coin combinations that contain real US stamps and coins. I think they all sell at a discount of the secondary market.

What is the value of legendary football coaches sheet of stamps?

Unfortunately, the US does not have a 'Legendary Football Coaches' sheet of stamps, but I believe you are referring to Scott Catalog # 3808-3811, 37 cent, Early Football Heroes, issued as a commemorative in 2003. There are 4 pictures of different football heroes. There are three values for this sheet of stamps and they are:New = $15Used = $4(Scott Specialized Catalog of US Stamps, page 267)Face value of $7.40 cents.Because of the large amount of stamps printed for this issue (70 million, page 532) most dealers will pay you about 80% of face value or $6 for new stamp sheet.Used stamps are sold by the ounce.
