There were not 70 cities founded by Alexander the great. This is a mis-attribution made by Plutarch of Charonea, the famous ancient biographer.
"As far as we know, Alexander founded some twenty towns: real Greek towns (poleis) -which Plutarch must have had in mind-, permanent military garrisons (katoikiai) and temporary military settlement (phrouria). Other towns were simply repopulated or just renamed."
