The names were just christain's as far as i know.
The two men on the road after Jesus' death were Cleopas and another disciple, as mentioned in the Gospel of Luke (Luke 24:13-35). They were discussing the recent events surrounding Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection when Jesus appeared to them, though they did not recognize him at first.
Peter is one of Jesus followers.

Jesus referred to his disciples by many different names. First and foremost, he called them by their first names. He also called them "friends", "brothers", and many symbolic terms inside of His parables, such as "branches", and other such names.
