Kentucky has 120 Counties which for a state of its area is probably more then is needed because so few travel by foot or horse to conduct their legal affairs at the county seat and still get home in time to do the chores. High speed roads and the automobile have changed the policy that mandated small counties. An incomplete listing follows with some of the counties whose names appeal listed.
