Challenger 1986, Columbia 2003
No new space shuttles are being built at this time.
It hasn't blown up - Challenger and Columbia were the shuttles destroyed in accidents in 1986 and 2003 respectively.
The 36 year old Space Shuttle Enterprise is housed at the Interprid Sea Air and Space Museum in New York City, the 29 year old Space Shuttle Discovery is at the Smithsonian Air and Space museum in Virginia, the 27 year old Space Shuttle Atlantis is at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida, and the 21 year old Space Shuttle Endeavour is at the California Science Center in California.
There has been a total of 6 space shuttles launched into orbit by two countries, the United States and the former Soviet Union. They are (year of first and last flights) Columbia (1981-2003) Challenger (1983-1986) Discovery (1984-2011) Atlantis (1984-2011) Buran Soviet Space Shuttle (1988, one flight) Endeavour (1992-2011)
5 Space Shuttle missions were launched in the year 2000 in this order; STS-99 - Endeavour STS-101 - Atlantis STS-106 - Atlantis STS-92 - Discovery STS-97 - Endeavour

The year is 3006. ya mum
When the orbiter of the space shuttle reaches space. it mainly performs its mission tasks. Before year 2000 space shuttles were mainly, not necessarily, used for taking cargo into space such as satellites and especially the Hubble Space Telescope. After the start of the International Space Station Program, Space shuttles were mainly used for building the space station in space. when orbiters reached space, they would usually deploy their cargo and astronauts would carry out the required procedure. the space shuttles usually docked with space station and returned to earth after the completion of mission
As long as it is repaired properly, a space shuttle can make trips to and from space forever. They were built for just that purpose. However, they will not do this because NASA is retiring the space shuttles this year (2010).

Six space shuttles have gone into space. The U.S launched Columbia, Challenger, Discovery, Atlantis, and Endeavor.A:As of April 5th 2010, 130 launches of the Space Shuttle have been successfully reached orbit. This obviously does not include STS-51L, of the orbiter Challenger but does included STS-131 (Mondays launch of Discovery)In September, NASA will end the 30 year Space Shuttle program after 3 more launches, STS-132(Atlantis), STS-133(Endeavor), and STS-134 (Discovery). It'll be a sad day for most in NASA.6 TotalChallenger, Columbia,Discovery, Atlantis, Endeavour, and Buran (Soviet reusable spacecraft) There have been six Space Shuttles. Five have flown in space. The first, Enterprise, flew only in Earth's atmosphere.
The Kennedy space center is a space center where they do space stuff and launch and land space shuttles and do a bunch of scientific stuff there and it's in Florida! The Kennedy Space center is NASA's (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) space vehicle launch place and Launch Control Center. It is located on Merritt Island near Cape Canaveral in Florida.
in the year my ainus blew up!
Space shuttles are not equipped to go on long distance voyages, nor can they hold enough fuel. shuttles are mostly used for travel to and from the International Space Station and low earth orbit. If you had an infinite supply of fuel and you could just rocket in a strait path while Uranus is at the closest point in its orbit it would only take a bit over a year. Unfortunately, you have to factor in the gravitational pull of surrounding bodies and as previously stated the limited amount of fuel. so it would be much much longer.
