Not that many, really. First of all the USA was a very late participant in the war, so it didn't nearly suffer the number of human losses that the other Allies did, nor did the USA suffer the great damages from being a battlefield area like France was.
On the contrary, both World Wars provided a boost to the US economy (most so WW 2) because the war industry provided jobs to hundreds of thousands.
Politically speaking WW 1 did not have much effect at all. The USA had not been interested in playing a great role in international affairs before and during most of WW 1, and immediately afterwards withdrew again in its isolationist policies, refusing even to become a member of the League of Nations that its own President had established.
