A DNA molecule is shaped like a twisted ladder ,the rungs of the 'ladder' are the bases ,they are called nucleotides.A nucleotide is made up of phosphate ,sugar and a base.The bases pair (a-t) c-g).The sides of the 'ladder' are made out of phospates and sugers.

The order of the bases makes up the genetic code.The code tells the cells how to assemble the protens that make up our body.The bases are the genes.

Adenine and Thymine make up one pair and Cytosine and Guanine make up the other pair. Uracil pairs with Adenine in RNA.
