*Base-
is a foot or base of the drill tool, which is usually made of cast iron, which functions to provide stability and to support the upright column.
* Table
is a work table to put things on to be drilled. Surface of the table can be 90o angle formed with the column, and can be moved up, down, angled and rotated on the column . The form of a table can be round or square.
* Drilling head (head gear)
is the head gear that is attached at the top end of the column. This section consists of components that raise or lower the spindle. Spindle axis is not rotating, but will only move up and down inside the head
At the lower end of the spindle is the chuck, which serves to hold the drill bit.
* Power transmission
is the part that transmits power which comes from the electric motor. This is transmitted by using a pair of opposing pulley stacks and a V-belt. With a combination of comparative size pulleys the speed of the spindle can be adjusted.
* Hand-feed lever
is a tool that is used to control the up/down movement of the drill spindle.
* Depth stop
regulates the depth of spindle movement.
Boring machines (many different types) have the same basic parts;
Bed or main casting having machined surfaces that act as a guide for two or more carriages that slide on the guideways or ways. The ways are oriented at 90 degrees to each other to enable movement in at least two, more often three, directions. One slide has a spindle that rotates and hold a cutter of some type. the cutter generates or bores a round hole. hence a boring machine.
A drill press is used to drill very accurate holes in many mediums, wood, metals, plastics,etc. Most common home drill presses will accept bits up to 1/2" diameter, and have a 6-9" throat. The advantages of a drill press include drilling larger holes and repeated accurate holes by use of simple jigs. -Industrial drill presses can be huge and take many different tools such as 'milling' bits and 'square hole' drills. They often have a coolant feed for heavy metal drilling.
The simplest tool for a drill press is a drill bit. -The bench drill press can take bits of up to 1/2 shank size and many of those are drill bits up to an inch wide. ( it's quite common to have large drills with reduced shanks) -Other items like large hole saws can be used, as well as 'fly cutters', which are cutting bits on the end of a movable beam. These can usually cut holes in thin materials like plexiglass sheet, up to a foot in diameter. Forstner bits up to 6 or 8 inch can be used, these cut large, flat bottomed holes for installing clocks and other instruments. Milling bits can be used to 'mill' large areas of rough surface to smoothness, and 'square hole tools' can also be used.
The large drill press is a very versatile tool.
You can drill very accurate size holes,
you can drill very large holes with use of hole saws,
with use of jigs, you can drill many identically placed holes,
you can drill holes in many sheets of thin materials if clamped together,
you can drill large holes in very thin materials with use of a fly cutter,
you can drill holes to a precise depth with Forstner bits.
you can mill things flat with milling bits
and many more things - a drill press is a very versatile machine.

No, Kenmore sewing machine parts, or any other brand of sewing machine parts, are NOT compatible with gun parts. Sewing machine parts and gun parts must serve entirely different functions and withstand totally different sorts of stress.

There are no boring parts in Hunger Games. Only AWESOME parts.
