Phloem- (flow-um) the phloem transports the food and sugar minerals from the roots to the leaves.

Xylem- (zy-lum) the xylem transports water and nutrients from the roots to the leaves.

Heartwood- The heartwood is the inner most part of the tree and it keeps the tree alive.
