The appendix, (Cecum) ascending colon, transverse colon, descending colon, (Sigmoid colon)and rectum.
The large intestine consists of the appendix, the cecum, ascending colon, hepatic flexure, transverse colon, splenic flexure, descending colon, sigmoid colon and rectum.
Cecum with the vermiform appendix hanging from it, the ascending colon, transverse colon, descending colon, sigmoid colon (which is s - shaped), rectum, the anal valve and lastly the anus.
The large intestine, grossly, is comprised of:
* The cecum, which includes the ileocecal valve and appendix * The ascending colon * The transverse colon * The descending colon * The sigmoid colon * The rectum
Taeniae coli – three bands of smooth muscle
Haustra – bulges caused by contraction of taeniae coli
Epiploic appendages – small fat accumulations on the viscera
The ascending colon, the transverse colon, and the descending colon. These three parts are followed by the sigmoid colon, the rectum and the anus.
The small intestine is the part of the gastrointestinal tract between the stomach and large intestine. The three parts that make up the small intestine are the duodenum, the jejunum, and ileum.
The section of the small intestine where nutrients are absorbed are the jejunum and the ileum. Once the digestive process takes place in the small intestine, food particles go to the large intestine.
The parts of the digestive system are parotid gland, salivary gland, esophagus, Liver, stomach, pancreas, small intestine, large intestine (colon), gallbladder, appendix, anus, and finally the rectum.
Large intestine
small intestine, and water absorption occurs in the colon/large intestine
the long intestine and the shorter intestine
Food can stay in the large intestine for up to 3 days.
The hollow organs that make up the GI tract are the mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, and anus. The liver, pancreas, and gallbladder are the solid organs of the digestive system. The small intestine has three parts. The first part is called the duodenum.
Food can stay in the large intestine for up to 3 days.
The s-shaped portion of the large intestine is called the sigmoid colon. Sigmoid comprises two parts: sigma(the Greek letter S) and the suffix -oid (which means like or similar to). Thus, sigmoid means similar to an S.
The major organs of the digestive tract are: -Mouth/Teeth -Esophagus -Stomach -Small Intestine -Large Intestine -Rectum/Anus The digestive system also has organs that food does not go through. These organs include: -Liver -Gallbladder -Pancreas
it goes to the large intestine
