There are several personal traits required to hold the position including; have a friendly and professional attitude, good communications skills, good memory or the ability to remember your checklist and safety procedures. Beyond that the most important attribute is the ability to remain calm and take charge of a situation during emergencies or unforseen events that may develop during the course of the flight.

Patient, understanding and tolerant. You will meet all kinds of people with differing expectations. Many passengers and crew for that matter will think they're a little more important than everyone else. To deal with this, cabin crew would need maturity.

The hours can be long and irregular. The work can be tiring, the passengers demanding or even abusive. The atmosphere in the aircraft at altitude is extremely drying.
