Peer pressure is beneficial when there is a healthy competition among the peers. In this way all of the people learn the good habits from each other and there is a lot of scope of improvement among the group. When different people from different backgrounds come together, they become mutually dependent and get exposed to various kind of different environments. This provides a pool of cultures, habits, beliefs and practices that one can get influenced by. Each will have a varied thinking for the same thing and will be able to benefit the group in a different way.
