Sea Snails and Starfish
Snails have many predators. Fish and water birds eat many kinds of snails. People harvest several species of snails. Abalone, periwinkle, and conch are sold in seafood restaurants and shops for human consumption, and certain land snails are served as escargot in gourmet restaurants.
Elephant Snails have only a few predators. Their predators are: * Humans- People eat them * Octopus- Eat them * Sea Anemones- Sting them and then Eat them

Snails do not have an opinion of their shell. It grows with them and offers them protection from the sun, predators, and the cold.
The shell of a snail protects it from predators.
Its is called a siphon. The snails uses it to exchange gas from above the surface of the water without actually surfacing. This allows the snail to not be a target for predators.

Generally snails are not predators, but there is one species that I know of that is a definite predator. The Assassin Snail, or Clea helena, is a freshwater snails that eats other snails and worms. There are a few other carnivorous snails in the Neogastropoda family also.
Apple snails are comfortable in water temperatures of 65-82 degrees Fahrenheit
The conus or cone snail is a sea snail. Sea snails live in the ocean and cannot survive out of water like garden snails. These snails are predators and are equipped with painful poisonous stings. There are reports of people dying after being attacked, but it usually only causes severe pain.
