The US Medal of Honor puts the recipient in a pretty exclusive club. It entitles the recipient to a LIFETIME PENSION, they are saluted by EVERYONE who passes them, whether officer or not, and I believe their sons and daughters, if they desire, have what amounts to an automatic acceptance to US Military schools (West Point, Annapolis, etc.)
