the problem faced by the people staying near railway station are :

1) the noise of the trains .

2) the vabration of the trains

3) the air pollution of the trains e.t.c.

These have been diminished considerably in many places by developments in both track and trains, particularly electrification (much quieter than diesel) and continuously-welded track.

The latter replaces the fish-plated and bolted joints whose expansion-gaps lead to the familiar "clicketty-clack" sound, with welds. Special, nearly-silent expansion joints are provided at intervals.

Problems that are encountered by people living near railroad stations are that they are noisy and run at late hours of the night. Also, overcrowding is another problem faced by people who live near railway stations.

Chiefly noise - from road traffic serving the station as a well as from the trains, but the latter may also bring congestion and overflow parking in residential streets.

The train noise depends a lot on type and frequency of trains, and on whether the line is of fishplate-jointed or continuously-welded rails.

Less pollution from trains than in the past though, with increasing electrification and more efficient diesel engines.

Scenic pollution perhaps, e.g., from high-level viaducts and overhead electrical supplies, but if the station is in city these are probably of lower importance than they may be in a rural location.

The surroundings of many (but no means all) city railway stations tend to have degenerated over the years; but that can't be all blamed on the railway.
