There are two types of plastic - thermoplastics and thermosetting plastic.Thermoplastics have high elasticity and low melting points whereas thermosetting plastics are brittle, solidifies over objects as a secondary surface and has a high melting point which is lower than metals.

Most plastics are non - biodegradable and require an extremely long time to rot.
